Jim's Conducting
Each year Jim collaborates with horn players from around the globe in the Corno Brass Music Festival, in Zielona Góra, Poland. He mentors students and professionals, coaches chamber music and conducts ensembles.
Conducting is one of Jim's passions. His favorite pieces to conduct include many of the Hollywood film scores that he played on for composers including John Williams, James Horner and James Newton Howard.
Jim also loves working with students to improve their horn performance and offer career guidance. He encourages them to pursue their passion while finding paths that will be fullfilling both artistically and financially. His masterclasses often include stories of his successes and setbacks on the way to a stellar freelance career during the height of the full orchestra film scoring era in Hollywood.
